Since receiving his Ph.D from the University of California he has carved out a career as a linguist, trainer and management consultant. He is the author of 14 books on subjects including transformational grammar, family therapy and of course, NLP. He is seen to be the foremost expert and the father of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
John’s expertise has provided content for over 1,000 educational books on specialist NLP matters, sales, psychology, negotiation, management, parenting and accelerated learning. His work is also the backbone of many NLP seminars conducted by NLP trainers all around the world, teaching his theories to over 20,000 delegates each year. Dr Grinder’s work is recognizable in the majority of quality business seminars meaning his work has influenced tens of thousands of people, a figure that continues to rise.
John Grinder’s aim when creating NLP, alongside Richard Bandler, was to produce a formula to replicate extreme human excellence. John identified theories from leading thinkers, in a range of disciplines, to help form the basis of NLP.
His early work with Bandler continues to be updated and modified and, with his partner Carmen Bostic St Clair, he is exploring new areas where his theories can be successfully applied.
